BELNAHUA

SERIES:
[Edgelands]

‘Belnahua’ marks the beginning of the new 'Edgelands' series by Daniel, which explores remote dwelling places on the edge of the world.

Belnahua is one of the slate islands located on Scotland’s west coast. This small, rocky island was once home to approximately 200 inhabitants. In the 19th century, life on Belnahua was arduous. The quarry workers and their families endured harsh conditions, with some likening their existence to that of "slaves." Today, the remnants of their struggles can be found scattered across the water-filled quarries, serving merely as habitats for wildlife.
